Plastering courses
Plastering skills are required on virtually every new-build and refurbishment project undertaken, so learning this trade will mean you're always in demand. Plastering is also a great springboard into other trades – master the basics and you'll find other skills are faster and easier to learn. We offer courses in hand plastering and fibrous plastering for everyone from beginners to pros – and unlike other plastering courses, we also give you full business start-up training so you can start earning straight away.
You'll get plenty of hands-on practice guided by some of the most experienced craftsmen in the business, and because our plastering courses are delivered in modules, you can choose which skills you want to concentrate on. Fibrous plastering is considered by many to be the most interesting and rewarding branch of the trade. In fact at any one time, almost half of the available fibrous plastering craftsmen are working in the film and television industries.
Request a brochure and you will automatically be entered into our monthly prize draw to win up to £500 off a course of your choice.
Fibrous Plastering Courses
Our foundation course enables trainees to get to grips with a sought-after and well-rewarded skill. We have our own commercial moulding shop and dedicated professional workforce, so we’re uniquely placed to help our students with the one-to-one hands-on instruction this type of plasterwork demands. The five day foundation course can be counted as part of the four week advanced course (fees are adjusted accordingly).
Hand Plastering Courses
Designed to take you from the basics of hand plastering to a professional level, the foundation course is suitable for those with little or no experience. Lasting five days, the course has been designed to meet the stringent requirements of NVQ units VR02, VR03, VR65 and VR66.
Advanced Plastering Courses
Polished plaster, often called Venetian, Marble or Italian plaster, is a stunning decorative wall finish made from lime putty, marble grains and powders, waxes and colourants applied with a steel trowel. That’s the easy bit – the skill is achieving a number of high-quality finishes ranging from the rustic pitted stone look to a coloured, high-shine finish.
